Candidates must possess an Associate’s Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Engineering, or a related field, and a minimum of eight years of progressive design experience with site grading, utility plan and profiles, site development projects including site layouts, roadway design, vehicular and/or pedestrian access, and plan preparation. Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is required, along with previous experience or formal training with AutoCAD Revit BIM. Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, etc.) and a valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record are also necessary.
The CAD Designer / Engineering Specialist will assist with the development of preliminary and final designs for wastewater collection, wastewater treatment, water supply, drinking water treatment, and street improvements within the municipal / government, manufacturing / industrial, and private development sectors. They will work alongside other Civil, Architectural, Electrical, Mechanical, and Structural professionals to provide civil design on multi-discipline public and private projects, including industrial, commercial development, utility infrastructure and facility design, stormwater management systems, and corporate and academic campus design. The role involves processing topographic surveys and developing background AutoCAD drawings from survey field data, and performing surveying operations including operation of instruments, recording, and interpretation of data. They will participate in project team meetings and interact directly with clients and technical professionals on a frequent basis, and may require occasional overnight travel for team meetings and site visits.
