Requirements

At least 5+ years of development experience
Strong programming skills (e.g., JavaScript, HTML/CSS)
Excellent troubleshooting skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong understanding of Next.js, Vercel, CMS platforms, analytics platforms, and design tools
Familiarity with growth experimentation, SEO principles, and marketing/brand campaigns
Graphic design skills (layout, typography, color, illustration)
Perfectionism with polish, readability, accessibility, performance
Experience working in or with Software as a Service (SaaS) companies
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, marketing, engineers)

Responsibilities

Lead the technical roadmap for acquisition surfaces
Champion iterative improvements to browser performance, accessibility, Core Web Vitals, and SEO
Collaborate with designers, marketers, and engineers on ideation and implementation
Provide design systems feedback and iteration to empower the company with a first-class web experience
Mentor other design engineers and share best practices in frontend craft, animation, experimentation, and performance
Grow the design and engineering team within the company
Advocate for and shape the design and engineering direction of Vercel
Contribute to the design process, gathering requirements and planning from the start of a project
Work with designers, marketers, and engineers to ensure high-quality, performant implementations across campaigns and pages
Help drive design leadership and engineering excellence on vercel.com, events, and related experiences
