Graduation from high school preferred, but not required
Maintain current CPR certification
Previous experience desired, but not required
Provide evidence of being free of infectious and contagious disease (e.g., TB) prior to employment and annually thereafter
Successful completion of background check (criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint check)
Completion of New Hire Orientation and all training requirements (including Relias) at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter
Current driver's license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance
Ability to perform sedentary work: exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, negligible force frequently; repetitive movements of hands, fingers, and arms; sitting most of the time with occasional walking/standing
Knowledge, skills, and abilities: willingness to learn; effective communication with patients and coworkers; desire to expand abilities; follow oral/written instructions; motivate patients; prepare/maintain charts, records, logs, and reports; establish/maintain effective working relationships

Responsibilities

Assist dentists and hygienists in chairside procedures routinely done in general dental practice
Prepare and set up instruments, materials, and equipment for procedures
Sterilize instruments and clean/routinely maintain equipment and work areas
Order and maintain supplies and inventory, including thorough and accurate documentation
Accurately record information on patient records
Attend to patient needs with patience, care, compassion, and understanding
Help identify related medical and/or social problems
Perform duties as outlined by the American Dental Association, Missouri Dental Board, and National Network of Oral Health Access
Perform reception duties
Perform other duties as assigned
