Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have valid U.S. driver's license issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • No more than two convictions in the past two-year period for traffic violations, no DUI convictions in the past three years, and no driver’s license suspensions in the past three years
  • Minimum of six months of commercial driving experience (any industry) OR three months of driving experience in the food and beverage delivery industry required
  • Must be able to pass DOT physical
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis and up to 100 lbs. on an occasional basis (up to 80 pounds repeated manual heavy lifting)
  • Able to perform repeated manual tasks, including using hand truck, going up and down stairs, frequent stops, and work in inclement weather

Responsibilities

  • Deliver customers’ orders to meet scheduled delivery times, following the stop sequence provided
  • Load and unload the vehicle for multi-stop deliveries
  • Transport deliveries by driving assigned vehicles
  • Use hand truck to move product from the delivery vehicle into the customer location, including up and down stairs
  • Unload products safely and stage product in the customer-designated space(s)
  • Accurately record delivery information, including operating a hand scanner and all company required documentation
  • Verify delivery of items with customers and check invoice for complete delivery
  • Process paperwork and damaged merchandise if any; handle proper documentation and disposition for return product
  • Collect payments (cash or checks) if necessary
  • Communicate delivery-customer issues to proper authority (e.g., Customer Service, Territory Manager, Transportation Supervisor)
  • Monitor refrigeration system on the delivery vehicle consistently for safety; follow all safe food handling procedures
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections (e.g., fluid levels, tires, windshield wash, replenishing fuel)
  • Deliver best-in-class customer service and maintain productivity
  • Other duties as assigned
