Requirements

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of industry experience with data engineering tools such as Github, Python, SQL, dbt, CDK, and Dagster/Airflow, along with cloud platforms like Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, or AWS. A proven track record in data migrations or platform transitions is necessary, as is comfort with building dashboards using tools like Tableau, Quicksight, or Hex. Fluency in storing and visualizing multi-modal time series data is required, along with deep curiosity about human research studies and flexibility for occasional global team calls outside normal business hours.

Responsibilities

The Data Engineer will build dashboards and visualization tools to provide visibility into studies for the operations team, scientists, and engineers. They will improve and monitor data quality by building tests, tracking pipeline performance, and investigating root causes of issues. Responsibilities include designing, deploying, and maintaining pipelines for new data sources, such as surveys and sensors, in collaboration with DevOps teams. The role also involves supporting data migration to a new platform by contributing to software pilots and modernizing ingestion and transformation pipelines to meet engineering best practices.
