Requirements

  • 8+ years in international market expansion, ideally in a dynamic start-up environment
  • Fluent in both German and English, with exceptional written and verbal communication. Additional languages are a bonus
  • Experience spans sales, operations, trade compliance, and marketing
  • Brings a mix of a data driven and operational mindset
  • Excellent business acumen, negotiation and communication skills
  • Curious, collaborative, and adaptable in an ever-changing field
  • Self-starter; not afraid to roll up their sleeves and be an individual contributor Day 1

  • Willingness to travel to retailers, trade shows, and WHOOP HQ in Boston, MA (up to 25%)
  • Currently live in Germany (role is based in Germany; only candidates in Germany will be considered)

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute a multi-year global retailer pipeline for the DACH Region across various industries, including but not limited to technology, sporting goods, and marketplaces, by analyzing retail market trends and conducting in-depth retailer diligence
  • Proactively conduct retailer outreach, create proposals, lead negotiations, and develop an onboarding plan in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • Partner with Legal to execute contracts, develop SOPs to address unauthorized resellers, and establish country level wholesale policies
  • Partner with Legal, Accounting, Hardware & SaMD on country level tax certifications, registrations, and packaging requirements by country
  • Own retailer level assortment, forecasts, sales reporting, inventory, and POs in collaboration with Marketing, Apparel & Accessories, Finance, and Operations
  • Host quarterly business reviews with retailers to review past and forward looking performance, assortment, and marketing levers
  • Collaborate with Strategic Finance on LTV/CAC modeling for the geography
  • Coordinate strategy with DTC country managers to collectively grow the WHOOP membership base
  • Own communications internally with respect to pipeline, retailer launch status, and any bottlenecks impacting progress
  • Lead wholesale expansion for the DACH region, responsible for all processes related to successfully onboarding brick & mortar retailers, marketplaces, and distributors
