Candidates must possess a strong background in cybersecurity with expertise in cyber system architecture and engineering. Experience with the Risk Management Framework Cloud (RMFc) process and familiarity with Systems Security Categorization, FIPS 199 & 200, and FISMA 2014 are essential. In-depth knowledge of security concepts, incident response, and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools is required. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
The Cybersecurity Engineer will serve as a cyber subject matter expert, providing technical advice and developing cybersecurity policies and threat models. They will support the RMFc process, assist in developing documentation for customers, and streamline controls from Cloud Service providers to application owners. The role involves supporting business continuity activities, conducting business impact assessments, and ensuring data security throughout the lifecycle in cloud environments. The engineer will also monitor potential threat activity, provide engineering support for security tools, and run vulnerability and patching reports.
