Requirements

Candidates must have at least 7 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a strong emphasis on network security, vulnerability management, and incident response. An active Secret Clearance or higher is required, along with demonstrated experience in a Department of Defense environment, preferably with Army cybersecurity initiatives. Proficiency with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, and vulnerability scanners is necessary, and relevant cybersecurity certifications like CISSP, CISM, CEH, or Security+ are strongly preferred. A Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required, though equivalent experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

The Cyber Security Engineer will design, implement, and manage security solutions to protect DOD systems, networks, and applications from cyber threats. They will conduct security assessments, vulnerability analyses, and penetration testing to identify and remediate potential security risks. The engineer will develop and enforce security policies and protocols in compliance with DOD standards and collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security measures into development, testing, and deployment cycles. They will lead threat-hunting efforts, monitor SIEM systems for potential threats, support incident response processes, and provide training and guidance on cybersecurity best practices.
