Requirements

High School education or equivalent and two (2) years of responsible employment; experience in Human Services or a related field preferred
Successful completion of background checks including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint checks
Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment
Fulfillment of all training requirements including Relias at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter
Current driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and current auto insurance
First Aid certification within three (3) months of beginning employment and upon renewal date
Obtain CPR certification within three (3) months of beginning employment and upon renewal
Knowledge of confidentiality laws governing the treatment of substance use and mental health disorders
Capable of communicating ideas clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Proficient in basic mathematical operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively with clients, employees, family members, and other community contacts
Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions in various forms (written, oral, or diagram)
Basic keyboarding skills and ability to navigate and enter notes in electronic medical records
Ability to resolve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Ability to establish rapport with clients/patients while maintaining appropriate boundaries

Responsibilities

Provide oversight of day-to-day activities and redirect clients/patients as needed
Monitor vital signs and document client/patient behavior
Intervene and respond to crises, while maintaining communication with the treatment team
Facilitate group education and structured activities for clients/patients
Transport clients/patients as needed
Maintain clear and concise reports regarding client/patient behavior and treatment
Provide direct and supportive care to clients/patients
Possess a basic understanding of client/patient treatment plans
Monitor and document client/patient behavior
Provide a safe, therapeutic, and supportive environment for clients/patients
