Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field of study
  • 1 to 5 years of experience in credit markets, including formal credit training and financial analysis and modeling
  • Prior investment banking experience a plus
  • Broadly Syndicated Loan Market experience preferred
  • CPA, CFA and/or MBA a plus
  • Demonstrated understanding of GAAP principles/financial analysis/valuation/modeling
  • Ability to forecast/project based on drivers of applicable business
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret/analyze Quality of Earnings reports; understand/opine on Adjustments to EBITDA
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts used in Discounted Cash Flow and Net Present Value exercises
  • Ability to assess Relative Value, based on yield calculations, internal/external ratings considerations, and credit metrics
  • Ability to interact with outside institutions in professional manner
  • Ability to write correspondence and/or reports in a thoughtful, well organized manner
  • Ability to effectively present information to customers, clients and other employees of the organization
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports and/or legal documentation, including defining issues, collecting data, and drawing valid conclusions
  • Demonstrated competence with respect to overall macro factors and subsector trends/allocations
  • Demonstrated competence with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated competence in use of Bloomberg
  • Demonstrated competence with Moody’s/S&P online platforms for ratings/industry analysis
  • Ability to learn/adapt to technological platforms OFS employs on proprietary basis

Responsibilities

  • Monitor respective investments in the Telecom and Media, Aerospace and Defense, and Financial Services sectors within the Leveraged Loan market
  • Present written analysis on individual credits including but not limited to: business outlook, industry dynamics, company management, deal sponsor, capital structure, key credit agreement terms, collateral profile, cash flow projections/sensitivity analysis, comparable analysis, and relative value
  • Research investments incorporating fundamental analysis of companies within the leveraged loan space
  • Build/maintain financial models, prepare written investment memoranda and quarterly/annual portfolio management reports
  • Research potential investments based on “Relative Value” that incorporate criteria such as yields, credit statistics and industry tailwinds/headwinds
  • Assist in preparation of sector presentations on a periodic basis, providing current state of industry, company comparisons, valuations, new ideas, trends, etc. to the Investment Committee
  • Maintain high level of knowledge on current/evolving industry trends and monitor primary and secondary credit market activity in the leveraged loan/high yield space via networking/conversation with research analysts, third parties, and colleagues within the leveraged loan space
