Requirements

  • Minimum of 2,000 hours of relevant work experience and training related to maintaining, inspecting, servicing, repairing cranes and rigging
  • Working knowledge of how to identify deficiencies and make repairs to mechanical and electrical crane components and associated hoisting equipment
  • Certified in at least one of the following: Overhead Crane Mechanical Maintenance or Overhead Crane Electrical Maintenance
  • Take courses and pass tests to be certified in all 4 crafts (Rigging Inspectors, Crane Inspectors, Crane Maintenance Mechanical, Crane Maintenance Electrical) and maintain certifications as a Crane Inspector and Rigging Inspector
  • Skilled in troubleshooting, alignment, repairing, dismantling, assembling, installing, and inspecting all cranes and rigging
  • Understand hand signals and trained in the operation of all cranes
  • Competent to make calls and remove cranes and rigging from service when deemed unsafe
  • Valid driver’s license and mobile equipment qualifications
  • Comfortable with heights and able to climb, balance, stoop, crawl, reach, walk, push, pull, lift, carry, finger, grasp, feel, hear, talk to communicate, and make repetitive motions
  • Ability to constantly exert forces up to 50lbs and frequently exert forces up to 50lbs to lift, carry, push, pull
  • Ability to see to perform maintenance tasks, inspection tasks, drive, and read prints
  • Eligible to work in the USA

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, inspect, service, and repair cranes and rigging
  • Use all cranes, mobile equipment, appropriate hand, power, alignment and measuring tools, prints and drawings, necessary safety equipment, and materials used by millwrights, welders, electronic repairmen, maintenance electricians, electrical inspectors, mechanical inspectors, and rigging inspectors
  • Troubleshoot, align, repair, dismantle, assemble, install, and inspect all cranes and rigging
  • Operate cranes and understand hand signals
  • Make calls to remove cranes and rigging from service when unsafe
  • Perform physical tasks in various work conditions, including inside/outside environments, elevated noise levels, vibrations, extreme temperatures, close proximity to moving parts and electrical currents, elevated lifts and high places, exposure to natural gas, high heat, hot surfaces, molten metal, chemicals, oils, lubricants, and atmospheric conditions requiring a respirator
