Requirements

Candidates should possess at least 5 years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or a related field, demonstrating strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and relational datastores, including columnar and row databases. Experience with building and maintaining data pipelines and DAG tooling (such as Dagster or Airflow) is essential, along with expertise in event-based pipelines, CDC tooling, data migrations, SQL query optimization, data testing strategies, DBT orchestration, monitoring, health checks, alerting, and establishing a data catalog with business-related metadata. Experience with cloud-based infrastructure for data pipelines (AWS, GCP, and Terraform) is a plus, as is experience with document, graph, or schema-less datastores.

Responsibilities

As a Contractor, you will work alongside app developers and data stakeholders to create data system changes and respond to data inquiries, contributing to initiatives through epics and blueprints. You will utilize your domain knowledge to develop documentation, participate in technical presentations, discussions, and incident reviews, and build and maintain data pipelines and DAG tooling. Additionally, you will establish and maintain a data catalog with business-related metadata, build tools and automation to run data infrastructure, and provide experience in optimizing SQL query performance.
