Requirements

Candidates must have 5+ years of experience building, delivering, enhancing, and maintaining APIs using Python-based frameworks such as FastAPI and Django. Proven experience in building scalable, high-performance backends for hundreds of thousands of simultaneous users is required, along with significant experience in data caching strategies, asynchronous data retrieval and processing, working with relational databases and ORMs, SQL, and query tuning and optimization. Experience with Docker and containerization is also necessary.

Responsibilities

The Senior Backend Developer will develop The Motley Fool's investing microservices and build critical systems and data for investing products, websites, and tools. Responsibilities include integrating with third-party providers, ensuring data freshness and availability, collaborating with product owners and project managers, partnering with internal and external teams, utilizing AI tools for development support, reviewing code, and participating in an on-call rotation.
