Job Description: Content Associate - Financial Literacy

Position Overview

Khan Academy is seeking an experienced and versatile Financial Literacy educator to join our team as a Content Associate. This role is crucial in completing the development of our high-quality, standards-aligned Financial Literacy course, aiming to empower millions of learners to build brighter financial futures. You will work under the guidance of a Senior Content Designer, collaborating with another Content Associate to create and refine articles, exercises, and other instructional materials using Khan Academy's content tools and your subject matter expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Financial Literacy content team, including the Senior Content Creator and another Content Associate, to develop engaging, standards-aligned Financial Literacy assets.
  • Create and curate high-quality learning materials, such as interactive exercises and informative articles, utilizing original work and trusted resources from Khan Academy and external partners.
  • Utilize our content management tools to maintain, improve, and expand course offerings, ensuring relevance, accuracy, and a learner-centered approach.
  • Apply subject matter expertise, research insights, and learner empathy to shape content that promotes skill mastery and practical understanding.

Requirements

  • Proven ability to create high-impact learning content in Financial Literacy (minimum 3 years of content development experience).
  • Strong understanding of student learning styles and common misconceptions (minimum 3 years of relevant teaching/tutoring experience).
  • Experience and aptitude in working with standards sets to ensure coverage and alignment during course development and curation.
  • A desire to teach at scale, engage with a broad range of learners, and challenge assumptions about learner needs.
  • Willingness to leverage online tools for rapid publishing, user feedback collection, and content iteration.
  • Impeccable command of written communication.
  • An energetic, can-do attitude.
