Candidates should possess 5-7+ years of experience in a compliance role within financial institutions, fintech, payments companies, or bank-focused consulting firms. A strong understanding of consumer compliance regulations such as Reg E, Reg Z, UDAAP, Reg DD, and BSA/AML is required, along with experience supporting sponsor banks, BaaS platforms, or payments companies. Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment is essential, as are strong project management and communication skills. Experience operationalizing and monitoring compliance programs, interpreting contractual language, policies, and guidance, and understanding regulatory expectations in financial services, fintech, or payments are also necessary.
The Compliance Officer will serve as the dedicated compliance lead and primary consumer compliance point of contact for assigned issuing bank partners, ensuring their regulatory expectations and contractual requirements are embedded into operational processes and managed across program lifecycles. This role involves managing day-to-day compliance relationships with bank partners, participating in check-ins, responding to inquiries, and coordinating audit and exam readiness. The officer will act as the DRI for internal stakeholders and programs, interpreting and operationalizing compliance requirements, and partnering cross-functionally with Legal, Risk, Product, and other teams to ensure alignment with bank expectations and consumer compliance. They will also provide strategic advice on compliance issues, audit findings, and regulatory developments, collaborate on issue remediation, support program onboarding and oversight, and help develop internal policies and procedures.
