  • Previous agricultural or production experience preferred
  • Willing to work Monday through Thursday, 5:00 am until 3:00 pm, including holidays (schedule subject to change)
  • Comply with biosecurity requirements: shower, change clothing and footwear before entering facility, wear no jewelry except medical ID, cover body piercings, sign agreement to avoid avian species, abide by Company Biosecurity and Animal Welfare Guidelines
  • Physically capable: regularly lift/move up to 50 pounds with team member, occasionally up to 100+ pounds; stand majority of shift on various surfaces, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb/step over, balance, stoop/bend repeatedly, talk, hear, drive vehicle or back trailer; specific vision abilities (requirements partially listed)

Responsibilities

  • Transfers and sexes birds (25%)
  • Assembles equipment (25%)
  • Moves birds from one house to the next or within houses (25%)
  • Stacks and moves coops of birds (15%)
  • Other duties as assigned (10%): assists with identifying gender, catching birds, scanning wing band numbers, auditing market birds for wing bands; set-up for selection (loading empty coops, placing catch frames, hanging lights, setting up scales/scanner, making coop labels, placing coops, running cords); euthanizes weak/ill/injured birds per company policy and disposes properly
