Requirements

  • Previous agricultural or production experience preferred
  • Able to perform physical tasks including frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling
  • Available for full-time schedule (Sun-Wed, 6:10am to 4:20pm, including holidays; subject to change)

Responsibilities

  • Collect eggs from nest boxes and pen floors at least 8 times daily, including bending, stooping, and kneeling
  • Check hens in new flocks for production evidence and train them to use nests
  • Observe and record egg shell color, texture, and size; separate and dispose of substandard eggs
  • Mark eggs for line and source identification, pack in plastic hatchery flats with matching tickets, and prepare for pickup
  • Perform routine housekeeping: turn/change shavings, sweep, dust, remove trash, light maintenance; check and repair/report equipment, partitions, and house infrastructure
  • Conduct quality assurance: monitor egg quality, collect weekly feed samples and environmental swabs, ensure boot room and work area sanitation
  • Feed and water birds per schedules: ensure feeders/drinkers accessible, distribute feed evenly and per exact rations for hens and roosters
  • Weigh hens and roosters weekly, calculate, and record data
  • Attend to and care for roosters and hens; maintain overall house condition per R&D production objectives
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs
