Requirements

  • Must have valid driver’s license
  • Must reside in the United States to be considered for an interview
  • Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid contact with any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.)
  • Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines
  • Comply with biosecurity protocols: showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility; no jewelry except medical ID jewelry; body piercings covered by appropriate clothing
  • Physical ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds (utilizing 2 team members); occasionally lift/move up to 250 pounds with tools like pallet jack; stand majority of shift on concrete floor; walk; sit; use hands to handle/feel objects and controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; climb/ladders; stoop/bend up to 1000 times per day; use safe lifting techniques
  • Preferred: previous agricultural or production experience

Responsibilities

  • Collect blood samples from Pedigree birds to monitor bird health and diseases (25%)
  • Clean and sanitize sampling and blood testing instruments (15%)
  • Perform simple math as part of recording information according to instructions for sampling of pedigree chickens (50%)
  • Other duties as assigned (10%), including: move birds as required to other houses per house schedule; clean and disinfect equipment and vehicles used in moving birds, supplies, or equipment on the farm; help laundry staff as needed; properly euthanize weak/ill birds in accordance with company policy; off-farm shopping for supplies; travel to various farms for training and implementation of procedures (up to 1 week at a time)
