  • Able to perform physical demands: stand majority of shift on multiple surfaces (concrete, shavings); walk; sit; use hands to finger/handle/feel; reach; balance; stoop/bend repeatedly; climb ladders; talk/hear; drive vehicle; lift/move up to 50 pounds with two team members; specific vision abilities (close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, adjust focus)
  • Use safe lifting techniques
  • Work in wet, slippery, hot, dry, dusty, wet environments

Responsibilities

  • Collect blood samples from pedigree birds using needle/syringe/lancet to monitor health and diseases (30%)
  • Clean, sanitize blood testing instruments, and prepare sampling equipment for next use (10%)
  • Record information according to instructions for sampling of pedigree birds (30%)
  • Other duties as assigned: move birds; wash/disinfect vehicles; euthanize selected/weak/ill/injured birds per company policy; farm out to other areas during downtime; travel to farms for training or projects (30%)
