Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a general professional field (4 years of college)
  • 10+ years of poultry management related experience
  • Standard computer skills, including working with Excel spreadsheets and data in several other computer applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to use safe lifting techniques; regularly stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger/handle/feel objects/tools/controls, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, talk, or hear; occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Willingness to follow required safety procedures and wear personal protective equipment when visiting facilities
  • Compliance with biosecurity protocols: shower before entering biosecure environments, wear appropriate company-provided clothing and footwear, no jewelry except medical ID, sign agreement to avoid avian species (chickens, ducks, birds), and follow Company Animal Welfare Policy
  • Supervisory experience: 8+ salaried team members and 50+ hourly team members
  • Willingness to travel to all GP facilities within the specified region

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct the GGP GP and Hatchery production team to provide quality hatching eggs through production performance and flock health status
  • Achieve production objectives
  • Achieve compliance with regulations and objectives
  • Build and maintain effective contract grower relations (60+ contract farms and lease farm operations)
  • Support genetic progress in the production pipeline
  • Build and achieve budget
  • Develop qualified and effective team members
