Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s License with 1 year verifiable driving experience and clean safety record
  • Reside in the United States
  • Currently have and consistently maintain 4 attendance points or less (for lead positions)
  • Preferred: Previous agricultural or production experience
  • Ability to perform simple math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) for recording information
  • Ability to work varying schedule including weekends, holidays; 6:30am–4:30pm, 4 days/week, averaging 40 hours/week (subject to change)

Responsibilities

  • Assist Supervisor in coordinating daily department responsibilities, communicating instructions to team members, and ensuring timely and correct execution
  • Monitor equipment to ensure proper function, notify Supervisor of maintenance needs, maintain safe work environment, and adhere to Tyson policies/procedures
  • Supervise, support, and train AI workers in collecting semen and inseminating hens in egg production areas, performing essential duties in rotation
  • Catch rooster and control for milking per animal welfare guidelines (25%)
  • Stimulate male and collect semen into vial, visually observe for viability (25%)
  • Catch hen, invert, and present oviduct for insemination per animal welfare guidelines (25%)
  • Record information (e.g., bird weight, medications, feed intake, mortality) according to instructions and Cobb standards (25%)
  • Inspect birds to determine quality and progress by weighing weekly
  • Carry out swabbing duties as needed
  • Perform sanitation of breakroom, boot rooms, equipment, and vehicles
  • Properly euthanize weak/ill birds per company policy
  • Assist with scheduling for absent team members
  • Other duties as assigned
