  • High school diploma or equivalency preferred (pre-employment assessment required if not held)
  • Trade school for machining practices preferred
  • Math skills to perform basic calculations
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Demonstrate attention to detail
  • Ability to read measuring equipment (calipers/micrometers)
  • Able to concentrate, focus, and pay strict attention to detail
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work in noise levels ranging from quiet to extremely loud
  • Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including eye, ear, and foot protection
  • May occasionally lift and/or move up to 10-50 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC machining centers and conventional machines to fabricate parts
  • Load parts in machine and cycle machine
  • Detect malfunctions in machine operations such as worn or damaged cutting tools
  • Run production lots
  • Communicate with co-workers regarding production runs
  • Maintain safe, organized, and clean work environment
  • Check and monitor parts being run
  • Read basic dimensions and tolerances of blueprints
  • Ensure quality standards are met
  • Produce proper amount of parts per machine cycle time
  • Deburr and blend all machined parts
  • Perform daily maintenance on machines (maintain fluid levels, empty chips, wipe down machine to remove coolant, dust, and debris)
  • Maintain clean and organized work area
  • Complete and maintain paperwork properly
  • Maintain attendance (always on time and present)
