Cloud Systems Engineer

Employment Type: Full Time Salary: $100,000 - $150,000 per year

Position Overview

OptionMetrics is seeking a dynamic Cloud Systems Engineer to oversee, troubleshoot, and optimize our business-critical nightly workflows, running from 4 PM EST – 12 AM EST. You will be at the forefront of our most important and cutting-edge projects, working within our DevOps environment, cloud infrastructure, and network. This position is remote within the United States or hybrid, with options to work from our NYC or Miami, Florida offices.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee, troubleshoot, and optimize business-critical nightly workflows.
  • Solve challenges in our DevOps environment, cloud infrastructure, and network.
  • Utilize the latest cloud provisioning tools.
  • Automate tasks using a scheduler to boost efficiency.
  • Monitor systems and applications including Linux, Windows, and AWS services.
  • Deploy applications across a multitude of servers and operating systems hosted on AWS.
  • Use Bash, Shell, Python, and SQL scripting to automate processes.
  • Build, monitor, troubleshoot, and fix all environments to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Work with CI/CD tools, task schedulers, and Amazon Web Services.

Requirements

  • 3 - 6 years of Linux experience.
  • Deep technical understanding of AWS.
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure best practices, subnetting, routing, and firewall policies.
  • Experience writing SQL queries to troubleshoot data issues.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, vendors, and customers.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

What Will Make You Stand Out

  • AWS or any other cloud services experience/certification.
  • Experience with Teamcity or Terraform.
  • Ability to troubleshoot file transfer using ftp, ftps, sftp, ssh, and http/https.
  • Familiarity with OpsWise.
