Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent relevant networking certifications. A minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering, with a strong focus on cloud and hybrid environments, is required. Demonstrable experience with core AWS networking services like VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, and Route 53, along with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation, is essential. Strong knowledge of network hardware, software, and protocols from vendors like Cisco, Juniper, and Fortinet, as well as experience with firewalls, routers, switches, and VPN technologies, is necessary. Required certifications include AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner and Fortinet Certified Fundamentals, with AWS Certified Solutions Architect and Fortinet Certified Associate being preferred. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are a must, as is the ability to work independently and remotely in a fast-paced environment. Experience in a startup culture and comfort with evolving environments are also desired.
The Cloud Network Engineer will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of the organization's local and wide area networks, including both network and physical security devices. This role involves managing Fortinet firewall infrastructure within AWS, including configuration, policy management, and updates. Responsibilities include designing, building, managing, and operating Amazon Web Services using automation and infrastructure as code. The engineer will create and maintain standardized network documentation, such as diagrams and configurations, and collaborate with other teams to ensure smooth network and security operations. Providing end-user support for network-related issues and implementing and managing VPN solutions (site-to-site and remote access) across the organization are also key duties. Monitoring network and security performance and troubleshooting issues as they arise are crucial aspects of this position.
