Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience with IBM Mainframes (z/OS, COBOL, JCL)
  • 3+ years of experience leading operational teams
  • 5+ years of experience with DB2, CICS, and IMS
  • Experience in the operation and management of batch processing
  • Proven experience in troubleshooting and analyzing issues related to batch processing and systems
  • Experience using mainframe monitoring tools (e.g., Tivoli, OMEGAMON)
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with customers and team members
  • Business-level Japanese language proficiency (speaking and writing)

Responsibilities

  • Manage and operate IBM Mainframes, including batch processing
  • Troubleshoot system failures and analyze root causes
  • Manage DB2, CICS, and IMS middleware
  • Manage security and disaster recovery, including access management, policy adherence, and DR plan implementation
  • Manage backup and recovery operations
  • Review and improve operational procedures, propose automation and scripting solutions, and perform performance tuning
  • Respond to customer inquiries and provide technical support
  • Create and present operational status reports
  • Provide technical guidance to junior engineers
  • Support new projects with technical expertise
  • Lead and mentor team members
