We are seeking motivated interns to contribute to our control-plane software, which orchestrates a large-scale multi-cloud Kubernetes platform. About the Role

As an intern, you will contribute to the entire application lifecycle of our control-plane software, written in Golang. You will gain experience in enhancing our existing tech stack, including monitoring, and will be working with a platform that orchestrates tens of thousands of VMs across AWS, GCP, and Azure Kubernetes environments, managing hundreds of thousands of containers. You will work on our hosted offering, Confluent Cloud, which powers major businesses worldwide.

What You Will Do

• Research and Proactivity: Contribute to defining our technical roadmap through research and knowledge of the problem domain.
• Design: Participate in a lightweight "one-pager" architecture process for proposing changes and collaborating across teams.
• Implementation:
  • Develop Golang code, typically Kubernetes operators, to manage container-based cloud infrastructure.
  • Gain experience in infrastructure management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies like Terraform.
  • Work with persistence layers, including Postgres and Kafka.
  • Contribute to creating management and developer tooling (UX).
  • Implement and maintain security best practices to protect customer data.
  • Engage in testing, aiming for high code coverage and end-to-end testing through CI/CD pipelines.
