Candidates must possess an Azure Administrator (AZ-104) or Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500) certification, a Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience or 7+ years of applicable experience, and a CompTIA Security+ certification (or obtain within 6 months). Required experience includes deploying and utilizing Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Sentinel, and Microsoft Security Center, along with a proven track record in designing and implementing scalable, secure, high-performance cloud solutions. Expertise in Azure platform components such as Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Networking, VPN, Azure Policies, Log Analytics, Azure Monitor & Alerts, and Azure Backup is essential, as is knowledge of virtualization and containerization technologies like VMware, Docker, and Kubernetes. The role also requires the ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision, communicate effectively, investigate and solve problems, interact with customers, and stay updated on software technology.
The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for creating, managing, and refining technologies and solutions supporting Hexagon's software suite, with a primary focus on managing deployments in Microsoft Azure. Daily tasks include managing current infrastructures and future-proofing new opportunities. This involves monitoring and responding to security incidents using Azure Sentinel, Log Analytics, and other monitoring tools, as well as designing, implementing, and managing Azure infrastructure components like virtual machines, storage, databases, and networking. Responsibilities also include implementing and managing Azure security measures, developing and deploying cloud-based applications using Azure services, and migrating existing on-premises applications to the cloud with minimal disruption. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities is also a key duty.
