Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
  • 5-10 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with natural gas or other utilities (preferred)
  • Experience with AutoDesk Civil 3D (preferred)
  • Experience with Engineering-based programs (GasCalc, Pipeline Toolbox, BoreAid, and similar software) (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Design distribution mains
  • Design transmission pipelines
  • Design metering & regulating facilities
  • Design launcher/receiver assemblies
  • Perform civil site design, trenchless installation design, utility conflict analysis, and traffic control plan design
  • Prepare design reports and construction plans using client, local, state, or other applicable standards
  • Coordinate preparation of specifications and permit submittals
  • Prepare preliminary project cost estimates and evaluate quantities
  • Document design changes and communications
  • Conduct on-site observations as needed
  • Prepare project status and other reports
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals
  • Assist Project Managers as needed
  • Attend client, public, project, and staff meetings
  • Attend seminars and/or training classes
  • Maintain excellent client relations
  • Maintain a safe working environment
