Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Ability to work full-time with various shifts and work hours
  • Competency in emergency operational procedures, including CPR and emergency measures
  • Knowledge of administering medications and IV conscious sedation per physician orders and regulations
  • Experience or training in dialysis patient education, peritoneal dialysis, and home hemodialysis
  • Compliance with company, state, federal, and OSHA regulations

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate facility operations and patient procedures with Facility Manager, staff, and physicians to ensure quality patient care
  • Support and drive quality standards through regulatory compliance, Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI), and action plans
  • Implement training, ensure compliance with risk management, and address adverse events
  • Maintain integrity of medical records, environmental safety, and all compliance activities
  • Coordinate all aspects of patient care from admission to discharge, including assessments, education, and documentation
  • Educate patients and families on post-procedure care, vascular access, and home therapies
  • Schedule procedures efficiently, manage patient workflow, and provide direct patient care as needed
  • Confirm orders, consents, lab work, and documentation; handle lab requisitions and reporting
  • Act as a resource for staff on patient concerns and communicate issues to Facility Manager
  • Assume primary responsibility in emergencies
  • Ensure effective communication with physicians, attend Governing Body and CQI meetings
  • Assist with staffing, staff training, equipment management, physician relations, cost containment, supply management, patient billing
  • Empower, engage, and train dialysis patients on peritoneal and home hemodialysis; conduct initial home visits
