Requirements

  • Certified Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) - Board of Nursing (active license in the state of practice, upon hire)
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Board of Nursing (active license in the state of practice, upon hire)
  • Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist - National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) (upon hire)
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform position duties
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others, hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
  • Ability to work varied shifts (80hrs/2wks, day shift)

Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-operative patient assessment
  • Determine a plan of care and communicate it to patient and family
  • Establish and maintain essential venous access
  • Ensure establishment and maintenance of airway
  • Induce, maintain anesthesia, and perform proper monitoring
  • Complete anesthesia and manage emergence from anesthesia
  • Transfer care to appropriate staff at termination of procedure
  • Perform post-operative follow-up for each case
  • Act as a clinical instructor for anesthesia students
  • Care for patients at all acuity levels across the lifespan in settings including surgical, obstetrical, diagnostic, therapeutic, and pain management
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Comply with safety principles, laws, regulations, and standards (e.g., CMS, The Joint Commission, DHHS, OSHA)
