Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively with others
  • Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds
  • Ability to work part-time schedule of 48-71 hours every 2 weeks

Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance to residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, shaving, oral hygiene, bed making, transfers, repositioning, toileting, serving/collecting food trays, feeding, answering call lights, maintaining clean environment, transporting, ambulation, and orienting/reorienting residents
  • Perform vital signs measurements (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration, weight) and document concise, factual information on appropriate forms
  • Assist residents with specific medical care activities per policy/procedure, including restorative exercises, collecting specimens, assessing/documenting completed cares, and providing immediate feedback to nursing staff on resident status changes, pain, or concerns
  • Assist with restocking supplies, maintaining work environment, and performing cleaning procedures
  • Participate in providing emotional, educational, and spiritual support for families
  • Comply with resident rights, including confidentiality/privacy, and report allegations of abuse or misappropriation of property
  • Follow policies/procedures for fire, tornado, evacuation, disaster plans, universal precautions, infection control, and hazardous/chemical communication
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents, families, and staff
