Requirements
- Ph.D. student in immunology, cell biology, parasitology, or a related discipline
- Proficient in eukaryotic cell culture with excellent sterile technique
- Experience with immune cell assays (NETosis, cytokine profiling, PBMC immunoassays) is highly desirable
- Familiarity with EV isolation or cell viability assays is a plus
Responsibilities
- Isolate and culture various innate immune cell subtypes
- Perform in vitro co-cultures of immune cells with parasite larvae and parasite-derived proteins
- Compare immune responses between parasite-susceptible and -resistant species
- Assess inflammatory states using cell viability and NETosis readouts, ELISA, Luminex, and/or FACS
- Optimize and quantify extracellular vesicle (EV) isolation protocols for parasite culture
