Requirements

  • Must be 21+ years of age
  • Valid Driver’s License with a “clean” driving record (no single DUI in the last three years and no multiple DUIs within the last seven years)
  • Must obtain a valid CDL Permit and DOT medical certification prior to pre-employment background check
  • Must submit to and pass pre-employment testing (Drug Screen, Background Check)
  • Must obtain Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within ninety (90) days of start date to remain actively employed
  • Must have one year Distribution/Warehouse experience or other military experience in lieu of
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good mathematical and arithmetic skills
  • Frequently lift, push, or move product that weighs up to 100 pounds
  • Frequently reaching up to 72” to stack and unstack pallets
  • Schedule flexibility (e.g., overtime hours)

Responsibilities

  • Unload product from trailer, by hand or using a hand cart, and place in designated customer storage areas
  • Transporting product down ramps, stairs, or docks, in all weather conditions
  • Constantly bending and twisting while loading and unloading product and retrieving items from the trailer
  • Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures
  • Contact management for authorization when there are discrepancies on invoice and communicate all errors/returns
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip responsibilities following the Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and Sysco policies
  • Pickup, load and unload damaged goods and customer returns and complete necessary paperwork
  • Complete DOT logs (electronic or manual as required), company vehicle maintenance reports, and reconcile with appropriate company representative as required
  • Deliver product within assigned route schedule and time windows. Immediately inform the management team of any deviations
