21+ years of age
Valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with a clean driving record
Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and make entries on reports and records
Ability to touch freight: lift, push, or move product weighing an average of 40-60 pounds and as much as 100 pounds repeatedly; frequently lift/push/move 1-75 pounds up to 100 pounds; frequently reach up to 72” to stack/unstack pallets and hand cart; constantly bend and twist while loading/unloading
Submit to pre-employment background check and drug screen
Flexibility for overtime, weekends, and holidays as business needs require
Preferred Requirements
1 year customer delivery experience
6 months hand cart/hand truck experience
6 months Food and Beverage experience
2 years consistent work history

Responsibilities

Run daily routes with frequent stops efficiently, meeting or exceeding designated route times
Operate in a cross-dock model: pick up loaded truck from nightly delivery at assigned loading dock and return empty truck to assigned lot at end of route
Load packages onto hand trucks and unload product at each stop in designated order
Place unloaded product in designated customer storage areas (may include transporting down ramps, stairs, or docks in all weather conditions)
Verify delivery of items with customer, obtain proper signatures, contact management for invoice discrepancies, and communicate all errors/returns/shorts
Handle customer complaints professionally
Handle company equipment properly, follow written driver safety rules, perform pre-trip inspections, and complete pre-trip and post-trip responsibilities per DOT regulations and Sysco policies
Occasionally assist with loading trucks, palletizing product, and other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager
