Requirements

Candidates should possess a general understanding of accounting concepts and procedures, proficiency in SAP for cash application, and advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables. The role requires the ability to work independently and collaboratively, strong organizational skills with extreme diligence, self-direction, initiative-taking, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced setting with strong time management skills to meet deadlines consistently.

Responsibilities

The Cash Application Specialist will be responsible for the prompt and accurate processing of customer credit card payments, researching and reconciling cash application related variances, and managing a significant volume of transactions. This includes investigating and resolving payment escalation and discrepancy inquiries, ensuring multi-currency payments are processed accurately, researching remittance and transaction details to resolve unapplied cash, and verifying duplicate payments. The specialist will also audit foreign exchange and bank fees, maintain compliance with financial policies and PCI standards, manage the end-to-end credit card process including disputes and chargebacks, keep collection teams updated on cash application issues, identify opportunities for process optimization, and assist in special cash application related projects and audits.
