Requirements
- Follow Company policies and procedures for preparing, handling, packaging, labeling, and storing food
- Operate and sanitize food-related equipment
- Utilize approved chemicals, supplies, tools, and equipment
- Follow recipe measurement instructions
- Utilize specialized decorating skills to complete Company approved designs
- Work with a variety of products (e.g., decorating bags, tips, nozzles) to create decorative flowers and lettering on bakery items (e.g., cakes, cupcakes, pies)
- Follow Members' orders/specifications using appropriate designs, colors, and utensils
- Follow all safety standards, procedures, and guidelines, including conducting safety sweeps, proper forklift spotting procedures, and company steel standard guidelines
- Correct/report unsafe situations to management
Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain the Bakery area (e.g., work surfaces, windows, mirrors, display cases, coolers)
- Stock and display food products properly
- Maintain merchandise presentation by stocking merchandise, setting up/cleaning/organizing product displays, removing damaged goods, signing/pricing merchandise, ensuring design inventory availability, and securing fragile/high-shrink merchandise
- Prepare Bakery Department merchandise based on daily production needs and operate Bakery equipment
- Properly wrap, label, and store merchandise
- Provide Member service by acknowledging Members, identifying needs, assisting with purchasing decisions, utilizing selling techniques, taking bakery orders in person or by phone, locating merchandise, managing production for on-time delivery, keeping sales area/backroom stocked, and resolving issues/concerns
- Maintain the Sales Floor in the Bakery area by handling claims/returns, zoning the area, arranging/organizing merchandise, and identifying shrink/damages
- Work collaboratively with other associates to meet member expectations and drive member service
