Requirements

  • Understanding of basic AutoCAD drafting of plan views
  • Redline processing
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 products
  • Ability to multi-task, work cross-functionally, and globally
  • 1+ years of professional AutoCAD experience (preferred but not required)
  • Education and training equivalent to high school plus two years of technical or trade school training (preferred coursework: engineering, mechanical drafting, AutoCAD, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, surveying)
  • Work experience as a Drafter or similar role (a plus)
  • Preparation of drawings to company and/or client standards

Responsibilities

  • Provide CAD drafting support services
  • Perform skilled drafting work in preparing preliminary and final engineering drawings, plans, maps, and exhibits
  • Transform initial rough product designs using CAD software into working documents
  • Review engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards
  • Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions
  • Become proficient with company CAD organizational systems and standards
  • Produce finished drawings from preliminary design sketches and instructions provided by design staff
  • Address plan check comments, including basic plan view level comments, editing text, editing attributes, etc
  • Use existing information to prepare composite exhibits and plans
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as required, such as research and construction document scans and copies
  • Keep company records up to date for progress on assigned workload
