Requirements

  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo) and GD&T (preferred)
  • Experience in equipment and fixture design, automation, process development, or manufacturing engineering (preferred)
  • Expertise in automated equipment technologies (preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with process equipment, tooling, and high-speed automation systems (preferred)
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills (preferred)
  • Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, or electronics industries (preferred)
  • Knowledge of regulatory and validation standards (GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11) (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain high-quality 3D models and engineering drawings of custom manufacturing equipment using SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM, adhering to industry standards (GD&T, ASME)
  • Develop detailed CAD models, drawings, and specifications for plastic, metal, and composite components
  • Lead and assist in the design, development, and validation of automated manufacturing equipment and systems
  • Support the development and implementation of scalable, high-volume manufacturing processes for product assembly
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing) to ensure designs meet functional, safety, and compliance requirements (ISO 13485, FDA, MDR)
  • Perform tolerance analysis, material selection, and design-for-manufacturing (DFM) reviews
  • Assist with equipment specification, vendor collaboration, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ)
  • Troubleshoot and optimize manufacturing systems to ensure compliance with regulatory standards (FDA, 21 CFR Part 11, GAMP 5) and safety codes (NFPA, UL508A)
  • Support equipment lifecycle activities, including user requirements, system design, testing, and documentation for automation integration
