Requirements
- Lead and develop a pharmacy team providing exceptional patient care
- Promote best practices and lead through change while identifying and addressing performance opportunities
- Support novel program awareness and onboard newly hired pharmacy team members
- Recognize colleagues for their success
- Exhibit best practices when working the bench, including quarterbacking the team, providing meaningful counseling, and abiding by legal and regulatory guidelines
- Conduct new Technician and Pharmacist onboarding for the store and district, including training on CVS workflow and ensuring timely completion of required training/licensure
- Ensure pharmacy operations are fully compliant with state Board of Pharmacy regulations and escalate issues as needed
- Partner with the Store Manager to maintain a healthy talent pipeline of cross-trained colleagues and ensure timely completion of their training for licensure
- Oversee Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists (where applicable), managing performance through observation, feedback, validation, annual reviews, and closing gaps
Responsibilities
- Live the company's purpose by managing and improving patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
- Oversee the pharmacy team during bench shifts, strengthening performance measures through effective coaching and consistent follow-up
- Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing the team to follow pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, coaching the team to do the same, demonstrating compassionate care, collaborating with healthcare teams, and proactively resolving insurance/medication issues
- Proactively offer and deliver immunizations; identify, engage, and support Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize
- Support effective management of pharmacy inventory by following and coaching the team on all inventory best practices, with focus on protecting cold chain products
- Act as a role model demonstrating genuine care and setting the bar for the pharmacy team to cultivate a culture of excellence
