Requirements
- Licensed pharmacist (implied by role and responsibilities including dispensing, counseling, immunizing, and regulatory compliance)
- Ability to lead and develop a pharmacy team through coaching, onboarding, and performance management
- Knowledge of pharmacy workflow procedures, safety guardrails, inventory best practices (including cold chain), and state Board of Pharmacy regulations
- Skills in patient counseling, immunization delivery, prescription fulfillment, and resolving insurance/medication issues
- Capability to oversee bench shifts, ensure compliance, and escalate issues
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a pharmacy team by acting as a role model, promoting best practices, onboarding new hires (Technicians and Pharmacists), providing training on CVS workflow, and ensuring timely completion of required training/licensure
- Oversee the pharmacy team during bench shifts, including quarterbacking the team, strengthening performance measures through coaching and follow-up
- Manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, meaningful counseling, and immunizing practices; proactively offer and deliver immunizations
- Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing the team to follow pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy, genuine care, collaborating with healthcare teams, and proactively resolving insurance/medication issues; coach the team to do the same
- Manage pharmacy inventory by following and coaching the team on best practices, with focus on protecting cold chain products
- Ensure pharmacy operations are fully compliant with state Board of Pharmacy regulations at all times; escalate issues or concerns to the Rx District Manager
- Support novel program awareness and recognize colleagues for success
