Requirements
- Act as a role model demonstrating genuine care and setting the bar for the pharmacy team
- Exhibit best practices when working the bench, including quarterbacking the team, providing meaningful patient counseling, and abiding by legal and regulatory guidelines
- Lead and develop a pharmacy team to provide exceptional patient care, promote best practices, and address performance opportunities
- Support novel program awareness, onboard newly hired team members, and recognize colleagues for success
- Ensure pharmacy operations are fully compliant with state Board of Pharmacy regulations
- Partner with the Store Manager to maintain a healthy talent pipeline of cross-trained colleagues
Responsibilities
- Manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
- Oversee the pharmacy team during bench shifts, including coaching and follow-up to strengthen performance measures
- Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing adherence to pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, genuine care, collaborating with healthcare teams, and resolving insurance/medication issues; coach team to do the same
- Proactively offer and deliver immunizations; identify, engage, and support Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize
- Manage pharmacy inventory by following and coaching best practices, with focus on protecting cold chain products
- Conduct new Technician and Pharmacist onboarding, including CVS workflow training, and ensure timely completion of required training/licensure
- Escalate issues or concerns to the Rx DL for support as needed
- Oversee Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists (where applicable), manage performance through observation, feedback, validation, annual reviews, and closing gaps
