Requirements
- Acting as a role model demonstrating genuine care and setting standards for the pharmacy team
- Knowledge of best practices in pharmacy operations, including safe dispensing, counseling, immunizing, workflow procedures, and safety guardrails
- Ability to lead and develop a pharmacy team through coaching, follow-up, onboarding, and performance management
- Compliance with all legal, regulatory, and state Board of Pharmacy guidelines
- Skills in inventory management, especially cold chain products
- Capability to oversee staff pharmacists, district support pharmacists, and cross-trained colleagues
- Experience in patient counseling, immunization delivery, and resolving insurance/medication issues
- Proficiency in CVS workflow, training, and onboarding processes
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the pharmacy team to provide exceptional patient care, promote best practices, and address performance opportunities
- Manage and improve patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
- Oversee the pharmacy team during bench shifts, including coaching for performance measures
- Ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing adherence to workflow procedures and safety guardrails
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, collaborating with healthcare teams, and resolving issues; coach team to do the same
- Proactively offer and deliver immunizations; support technicians in learning to immunize
- Manage pharmacy inventory by following best practices and coaching the team, with focus on cold chain products
- Conduct onboarding and training for new technicians and pharmacists, ensuring timely completion of requirements
- Ensure full compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations; escalate issues as needed
- Partner with Store Manager to maintain a talent pipeline of cross-trained colleagues and ensure their training completion
- Oversee Staff Pharmacists and DPSs, manage performance via observation, feedback, reviews, and gap closure
