Requirements
- Licensed pharmacist in good standing with the state Board of Pharmacy (implied by role and responsibilities)
- Ability to lead and develop a pharmacy team, acting as a role model
- Knowledge of pharmacy workflow procedures, safety guardrails, and best practices for dispensing, counseling, and immunizing
- Strong coaching, onboarding, and performance management skills
- Compliance with all legal, regulatory, and state Board of Pharmacy guidelines
- Capability to manage inventory, including cold chain products
- Skills in patient counseling, empathy, and resolving insurance/medication issues
- Experience in immunization delivery and training technicians to immunize
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a pharmacy team to provide exceptional patient care, promoting best practices and leading through change
- Oversee the pharmacy team during bench shifts, including coaching and follow-up to strengthen performance measures
- Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing adherence to pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy, genuine care, collaborating with healthcare teams, and resolving issues
- Proactively offer and deliver immunizations; identify, engage, and support Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize
- Manage pharmacy inventory by following and coaching best practices, with focus on protecting cold chain products
- Conduct onboarding and training for new Technicians and Pharmacists on CVS workflow, ensuring timely completion of training/licensure
- Ensure pharmacy operations are fully compliant with state Board of Pharmacy regulations; escalate issues to Rx District leadership
- Demonstrate best practices when working the bench, including quarterbacking the team and providing meaningful patient counseling
- Help manage and improve patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
