Requirements

Ability to travel the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled
Flexibility for scheduling and business needs
Relevant clinical and technical skills, including company-required trainings and CMEs
Understanding and compliance with federal/state laws, regulations, professional standards, ethical principles, CVS Health policies/procedures, and controlled substance regulations
Ability to assume Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist-on-duty

Responsibilities

Living the purpose by managing and improving patient health through safe/appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices
Overseeing the pharmacy and serving as Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts without overlap
Supporting safe/accurate prescription fulfillment by following and directing pharmacy team on workflow procedures and safety guardrails
Contributing to positive patient experiences by showing empathy/genuine care, coaching pharmacy team, collaborating with healthcare team, and resolving insurance/medication issues
Proactively offering/delivering immunizations and engaging/supporting Pharmacy Technicians to immunize
Supporting effective management of pharmacy inventory, following/guiding best practices (focus on cold chain products)
Contributing to a safe, inclusive, engaging team dynamic
Actively seeking opportunities to expand knowledge to better support patients
Supporting access to care and improving patient outcomes through clinical care (e.g., testing/prescribing for COVID/Flu, Hormonal Contraception where permissible) and empowering pharmacy team for holistic care
