Licensed Pharmacy Technician
Excellent communication skills with ability to practice proper phone etiquette
Ability to answer high-volume inbound calls via an automated phone system
Ability to make outbound calls to patients and referrals as necessary
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Organized and able to work with pharmacist to create efficient workflow
Ability to accurately fill patient prescription orders if asked by the pharmacist
Responsibilities
Maintain strict adherence to all Byram Healthcare policies and procedures, compliance and conformance plans, codes of conduct, laws, and regulations
Process new referrals completely and accurately
Communicate effectively and professionally with referral sources, physician’s offices, and patients/caregivers
Verify all patient demographics including shipping address, pharmacy insurance coverage, allergies, and medical conditions as necessary
Contact patients prior to their next order due date, process prescriptions, ensure prescriptions are current with refills and authorizations, verify ongoing pharmacy benefits, ensure accuracy of delivery address every month, inform patient of co-pay, and attempt collection prior to shipping
Keep customer database current and accurate with order information, communications, and activities documented in patient notes
Identify and refer any clinical issues to the pharmacist for consultation
Respond quickly and professionally to customer telephone questions and concerns
Work closely with all departments to ensure efficient processing and delivery of customers’ orders
Assist pharmacist with ordering and inventory as needed
Assist pharmacist with other duties requested for normal everyday pharmacy operations as granted to a pharmacy technician under state law
