Requirements

Candidates must have at least 3 years of back-office experience in U.S. securities at a securities firm, with specific experience in settlement, FX, and custody. A working understanding of Japanese securities management, off-ledger bookkeeping practices, client ledger structure, securities accounting, customer tax requirements, and regulatory reporting related to off-site monitoring is also required. Experience with U.S. and Japanese equity back-office processes, settlement, foreign exchange, and custody processes is beneficial. Familiarity with Japan-specific account types like NISA and knowledge of the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act are considered advantageous. The ability to read, write, and speak English is a plus.

Responsibilities

The Broker-Dealer Operations Specialist will handle customer securities account opening, including anti-social force screening and due diligence, as well as ongoing customer account management. They will manage and execute securities operations such as settlement, funding, withdrawals, and balance reconciliation. Additionally, the role involves providing feedback and support to the product development team based on domain knowledge of U.S. and Japanese equity back-office processes, inputting on processes related to settlement, foreign exchange, and custody, and validating specifications and accuracy of statutory reporting documents. The specialist will also review and verify customer tax-related requirements and provide input regarding requirements for off-ledger bookkeeping and client ledger structure.
