Candidates must be Board Certified in Toxicology, with an active medical license, and possess expertise in toxicology to review cases and provide insights on the medical necessity of treatments and claims. They must ensure compliance with client-specific policies and nationally recognized standards of care, utilizing current clinical guidelines and evidence-based resources.
The Physician Advisor will review and evaluate medical records related to toxicity and adverse effects of substances to address questions posed by the client, ensuring determinations are clear, concise, and supported by adequate documentation. They will identify and utilize relevant criteria and standards, provide timely reports, return cases by the due date, perform follow-up calls as needed, participate in required orientations and training sessions, address quality assurance issues, and maintain proper licensure and certification.
