Position Overview

Dane Street is expanding its physician panel with a telework opportunity for supplemental income. This role involves providing a caseload customized to your schedule, acting as an independent contract reviewer.

Job Summary

As a Physician Advisor for Disability Peer Review, you will leverage your expertise in toxicology to review cases and provide insights on the medical necessity of treatments and claims. You will ensure compliance with client-specific policies and nationally recognized standards of care.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate medical records related to toxicity and adverse effects of substances to address client questions using relevant criteria and standards.
• Ensure determinations are clear, concise, and supported by adequate documentation.
• Identify and utilize current clinical guidelines, evidence-based resources, and peer-reviewed literature for objective decision-making.
• Provide timely reports along with any criteria utilized in the review.
• Return cases by the specified due date and time.
• Perform follow-up calls as needed based on specific case requirements.
• Maintain proper licensure and certification.
• Participate in required orientations and training sessions.
• Address quality assurance issues and participate in audits or additional required reviews as needed.
