Position Overview

Dane Street is expanding its physician panel with a telework opportunity for supplemental income. As a Physician Reviewer/Advisor for Disability Peer Review, you will leverage your clinical expertise to review medical records and provide independent, professional opinions on a claimant's functionality and restrictions or limitations related to disability benefits. Determinations are based on the clinical evidence within the provided medical records.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Accept cases on a contract basis according to your schedule.
• Review all provided medical records and address each question posed, utilizing client-specific or nationally recognized evidence-based criteria.
• Opine on disability status with a clear, concise rationale substantiated by adequate supporting documentation.
• Identify and utilize current criteria and resources, including national, state, and professional association guidelines, and peer-reviewed literature for sound and objective decision-making.
• Refrain from using case studies, cohorts, or similar materials to make decisions.
• Provide a report and copies of any criteria utilized within the review promptly.
• Return cases on or before the specified due date and time.
• Complete peer-to-peer calls/call attempts as required by client-specific protocols to obtain necessary information or clarification.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including providing clarifications, addenda (with additional compensation), and responding to quality assurance, complaint, and regulatory issues.

Requirements

• Board certification required.
• Active practice required.
