Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; OR equivalent military education to an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree; OR participant in the formal GEHC Biomed/FE Services Internship, Apprenticeship or Military Externship program; OR High School Diploma/GED and a minimum 4 years of experience servicing electrical, electronics, IT or mechanical equipment
  • Minimum 2 years of experience servicing medical equipment
  • Knowledge of electronic digital circuitry and understanding of electronic and electro-mechanical devices
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship)
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. unassisted; frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit and stand for long periods; reach at, above and below shoulder level; flex/extend neck; good hand and finger dexterity
  • Willingness to work onsite in the Portsmouth, VA area

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate customer biomedical equipment issues, implement appropriate repairs, and perform planned maintenance and safety and environmental inspections
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and hospital protocols to ensure regulatory and compliance requirements are met; ensure documentation of all work performed is captured
  • Maintain strong relationships and frequent communications with customers to ensure resolution and proper follow-up for ongoing customer satisfaction
  • Maintain proper care of tools and test equipment to ensure calibration and ability to deliver timely and accurate repairs and maintenance
  • Identify and report all customer quality or compliance concerns immediately to the Quality Organization
