Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Internet Connectivity - Min Speeds: 3.8Mbps/3.0Mbps (up/down)
  • 2-4 years of experience in a healthcare billing/claims or related field
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare billing software and medical insurance policies
  • Understanding of healthcare billing and insurance practices, medical terminology, and member engagement in a healthcare context
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent teamwork and management skills
  • Empathic but resolute in decision-making
  • Attentive to detail
  • Knowledge in using contact center software and member relationship management (CRM)
  • Comfortable with a fast-paced environment, frequent change, and energized by metrics

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with medical professionals, insurance payers, specialists, and other healthcare stakeholders to ensure seamless care coordination for members
  • Manage day-to-day member communications, including questions, feedback, and resolving concerns via chat and phone support
  • Act as a single point-of-contact to coordinate resources along the care delivery spectrum, identify gaps, and provide proactive follow-up
  • Respond to customer questions via telephone and written correspondence regarding insurance claims
  • Navigate complex billing workflows to understand patient’s next steps and clearly communicate them to patients and internal team members
  • Collect delinquent accounts by establishing payment arrangements with patients, monitoring payments, and following up on lapses
  • Examine patient bills for accuracy and request missing information for proper claims processing
  • Coordinate with other resources and providers to ensure smooth continuum of care and become a subject matter expert in billing care coordination workflows
  • Connect members with urgent or clinical needs to appropriate resources immediately if unable to resolve
  • Exercise judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining strong partnering relationships with members
  • Suggest changes to leadership to improve workflows for self and others
  • Manage coordination of care within Tia’s ecosystem, working cross-functionally across teams to meet member needs
  • Clearly document all communications and contacts with providers and personnel in standardized documentation and messaging
  • Cross-train on additional parts of the care coordination department, focusing on first contact resolution and seamless patient experience
  • Learn complex workflows for Tia services regarding billing, claims, and insurance practices
  • Perform tech troubleshooting
